I’m an award-winning freelance filmmaker originally from the North West of England.
In my documentary work I’m drawn towards emotionally and editorially complex subject matter and as a result I’ve filmed all over the world with a range of people - from organised crime investigators to neo-nazis, Christian hate groups to illiterate millionaires, and with people who have survived unimaginable injustice.
I was in the inaugural cohort of the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma’s Documentary Film Fellowship in 2024. The Fellowship focused on how we make ethical, trauma-aware films that better reflect experiences of violence, crisis and tragedy while protecting ourselves as filmmakers.
I’ve been on teams that have won Best Factual Series and Best Current Affairs Awards at BAFTA Scotland, and the London Press Club’s Scoop of the Year Award. Other films I’ve worked on have been nominated for the Broadcast Best Documentary Award and the RTS Scoop of the Year.
A creative self-shooter, I take pride in finding beauty and humanity in any situation. When I’m not filming, I can usually be found swimming in the nearest lake, river, pond or lido.
